As of March 16th, 2020, here is the latest info for Babylon Union Free School District.
The letter sent out by Superintendent of Schools Rozzi notes that schools will be closed until March 27th, but New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered all New York State school shuttered until April 1st.
As per the order, School districts are required to develop a plan for alternative instructional options, including distance learning; distribution and availability of meals; and daycare, with an emphasis on children of parents of first responders and healthcare workers. Those plans must be submitted to the State Education Department, who can amend or modify those plans in consultation with the State Department of Health and the Office of Children and Family Services at any time.
School Calendar
Current guidance from New York State directs that districts must use up all snow days and vacation days first. After that, schools may apply to waive the 180 day instruction requirement. An updated school calendar is being prepared.
Distance Learning
This first, two week closure period is being treated as an extended vacation. No homework or class work will be provided during this time. The district is in the process of developing a program of remote learning that will be activated should the closure extend beyond two weeks.

The “Grab and Go” meals can be picked up at the High School kitchen window, located outside directly across the street from St. Joseph’s Church on Grove Place. “Grab & Go” food service will continue on weekdays (Mondays through Fridays) until all schools reopen.
The window be open from 10:00am to 11:30 am. One breakfast and one lunch will be available for each child. Meals may not be consumed on prmises. No ID or paperwork is necessary.
