WordPress is the free software that powers nearly a third of all sites on the web. If you’d like to learn more about it and how to use it, Babylon web development company PCQB WordPress Support will be teaching two classes in May.

 

WordPress Content Management Class – May 7th, 2019

 

If you already know a little bit about WordPress or have an existing WordPress site, this may be a good class for you. It focuses on creating, updating and managing content on your site. It is being held in conjunction with the Small Business Development Center at SUNY Farmingdale.

Topics will include creating and editing posts and pages, discussion of other types of content, working with images and the media library, understanding categories and tags and how to use them classify your content and how to employ basic HTML tags and page structure to improve search engine rankings.

Pre-registration is required. Coffee will be served.

WordPress For Beginners Class – May 15th, 2019

 

The beginners WordPress class at the Babylon Village Library. The basic WordPress class/workshop will be on May 15th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

This class is an introduction to using the WordPress content management system for a business or personal website. It is a beginner’s class. No prior knowledge is required. If you’ve been thinking about taking the plunge into WordPress, or you have an existing site that you’d like to learn how to manage, this is the perfect first step.

Topics covered in this class will include an overview of WordPress itself and how it works as well as its advantages and disadvantages. We will also discuss WordPress.com vs WordPress.org, what you’ll need to get started, how to set up your site and get it online and how to navigate the complex ecosystem of WordPress themes and plugins.
