Happy Monday, my fellow Babylonians. Last week was a pretty busy one around the Village and here at Home In Babylon. So here’s a roundup review for those of you who may have missed any of it.
One thing you may notice right off the bat is our new logo. Do you like it? Let me know in the comments.
Babylon Village Dining Directory
I may be biased, but I think the dining experience in Babylon Village is one if the best you can find on Long Island. So, after quite a bit of research and work, this week HIB released our new, Babylon Village Dining Directory.
Dozens of great Babylon Village eateries, tagged by category and cuisine, neatly searchable and listed in one convenient place.
Check it out! Give us some feedback. And if you see some information that need fixing or if I missed some place that needs to be included, leave a comment on this post or shoot me an e-mail at [email protected].
Village Pool Mural Restoration
Local artist Haley Watt is restoring the murals at the Babylon Village Pool. What she’s done so far looks great.
She’s completed two walls and has one more left to go. When she’s done, I look forward to more pictures and hopefully talking with her about the project.
In the mean time, check out her website, Haley By The Sea.
Former Babylon Banana Lot To Be Metered Parking
Proving the truth of the old adage that there’s always money in the banana stand, Suffolk County and Babylon Village have teamed up and bought the overgrown, abandoned, Babylon Banana Corp lot in the parking lot behind Bunger Surf Shop.
The lot has been cleared and the plan is to turn it into between sixty and seventy metered parking spots. This is a great thing and everyone who had a hand in getting this done deserves a big thumbs up!
Home In Babylon Is More Social
A lot of social media stuff for HIB this week. We premiered our new Twitter account, @homeinbabylon, so give us a follow if you’re on the Twitter machine.
We hit 900 likes on our Facebook page. Thanks to everyone who has been liking and following our page. We’re also up to 130 members on our Facebook group, Babylon Village Community Discussion. If you’re a Facebooker, come over and chat with us.
There’s also an Instagram, you know, for the kids. It’s also @homeinbabylon. There’s not much there yet, but follow us anyway.
