TGIF and a joyous vernal equinox to everyone. Mother nature decided to play a little joke on us this morning, dialing in some snow flurries for the first day of spring. I wasn’t fooled. I know winter is over. Bring on baseball!
Since it worked so well last time, I thought I’d try another open thread. So here it is.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with blogging terminology, an open thread is a post where the blog readers are encouraged to leave comments on any topic they like. Feel free to leave a comment and ask a question, make an observation, tell us what you’re up to or just introduce yourself and say hi.
I’m very interested in hearing fellow home shoppers, especially their impressions of any open houses that they’ve seen.
Debra is planning on doing some open house visits this weekend, so I should have some reportage for you on that front next week. As for me, I’ll be at the lab both Saturday and Sunday, giving up the first weekend of spring advancing the cause of science
I’m posting this “sticky”, which means that it will stay at the top of the page even if I post new stuff afterward. If you’re accustomed to stopping by and glancing at the top of the page to see if there’s new stuff, scroll on down a bit before you click away.
Did you go open-housing today?
Were you the guy with a shaved head and a goatee?
I saw a bunch of folks around (what I suspect to be) our age, 30s. We went to a few, and if you post on the ones we saw, I’ll be sure to comment…
Do you go with your baby (I ask because then it’ll be easier to figure out who you are to say hello)?
I’m at work today, Redwing. No open houses for me.
My beloved went to three open houses today. You might have seen her. She’s very tall, blond and had our baby in tow.
By the way, I’m 42. I’m 6’1″. I have a ponytail and I’m built like a power lifter.
I you see me around the streets of Babylon, say hi.
I am cracking up to myself! That bald guy with the goatee belongs to me! We were at the open house today. Makes me think that if a great house in our price range does come to the market… we all will be competing with each other. Just thought it was funny that my hubby appeared in the blog!
That’s funny, Frustrated. Yes, we’re in for a bidding war.
If I do ever get a house, I should invite my blog readers to the house-warming party.
I would no qualms whatsoever discussing purchase plans and bids among buyers. Used house salespeople has no problem reporting “There’s a competing offer – however, if you want to raise your bid a little you just might get it” whether the competing offer existed or not. So ’05. There are FAR too many houses on the market to even fathom getting into a bidding war.
Not to mention that falling in ‘love’ with any inanimate object is the E-ticket ride to the poor house.
G:
Ya know that calendar that shows the days of your blog postings is showing 2008 day/dates, i.e, yesterday was Sunday the 22nd, not the 23rd. Last year there was a Sunday the 23rd in March. What’s up with that?
Sorry – knew I kept my wife around for a reason – she points out that the calendar starts w/M, not S
