From Newsday:

Bank Robbed In N. Babylon

Suffolk County police are investigating an early evening bank robbery at the Roslyn Saving Bank in North Babylon.

Friday at 5:55 p.m. a man entered the bank, located at 1501 Deer Park Ave., approached a teller and demanded cash, police said. The teller gave the man the cash and the suspect then fled northbound on Deer Park Avenue, police said. Investigators are not releasing information about how much cash was taken

I guess the financial crisis isn’t too bad if people are still robbing banks. You’d really worry if criminals start thinking, “What’s the point of robbing a bank? It’s not like they have any money left”.

Still, it instructive to point out that the thief picked a branch of Roslyn Savings Bank to knock over and not, for example, a Washington Mutual.
