Some nice spring weather and a bunch more houses on MLS. What could be better? There are 36 open houses listed in Babylon as of this writing, although not all of them are for this weekend. I’m looking to visit Lee and Washington this Saturday. We’ll see how that goes.

I have to work on Sunday, the big open house day, but Debra may go out on her own and see a house or two.

Homes in Babylon

Total: 94

Babylon School District: 66

BSD and Under 600K: 33

Condos/Coops:13

We say goodbye to a couple houses that got a lot of discussion here on HIB, 44 George and 529 Park, each now sporting a Sold or Under Contract sign. I’ll be interested to see the final sale prices.

Some interesting new houses this week, including 109 Washington and 90 The Crescent. 33 Mason makes it into MLS at $349K asking. The disastrous high ranch at 179 Cadman is back up, now at a merely ridiculous $449K. We saw the Cadman house some time ago. I wrote an open house report about, but they pulled the place off the market before I got to post it.

This is an open discussion thread, so I invite any and all readers to pipe up and say something. Feel free to leave a comment and ask a question, make an observation, tell us what you’re up to or just introduce yourself and say hi.

I’m very interested in hearing fellow home shoppers, especially their impressions of any open houses that they’ve seen, but I’d also like to hear from any sellers and their experiences and observations.

I’m posting this “sticky”, which means that it will stay at the top of the page even if I post new stuff afterward. If you’re accustomed to stopping by and glancing at the top of the page to see if there’s new stuff, scroll on down a bit before you click away.

Enojy your weekend, everyone. Happy hunting.

Another Friday, another open discussion thread and another picture of my daughter. This past Tuesday was reasonably pleasant, so I broke out the stroller and we took a little walk down to Argyle Lake. We saw some geese and some little leaguers getting ready for the season. I had the camera with me, but I didn’t get any great shots except for this one of Aurora in her stroller.

I’m off this weekend, so I might go out and see some houses. Nothing tremendously exciting, but there is a new house, 33 Mason, that’s not even on MLS yet. Look for it at the Coach Realtors site if you’re interested.

This is an open discussion thread, so I invite any and all readers to pipe up and say something. Feel free to leave a comment and ask a question, make an observation, tell us what you’re up to or just introduce yourself and say hi. According to Google Analytics,HIB has had 4,162 pageviews, 1,623 visits and 666 absolute unique visitors in the last 30 days, so I know that you’re out there.

I’m very interested in hearing fellow home shoppers, especially their impressions of any open houses that they’ve seen, but I’d also like to hear from any sellers and their experiences and observations.

Here we are at the weekend and yet another open thread. Could it be that the third time’s the charm?

I’ve got my son this weekend and I’m working on Sunday, so probably no open houses for me. Debra is likely to take the weekend off from open housing. There might actually be some some spring-like weather this weekend, so I’m relying on you, my loyal readers.

One again, an open thread is a post where the blog readers are encouraged to leave comments on any topic they like. Feel free to leave a comment and ask a question, make an observation, tell us what you’re up to or just introduce yourself and say hi.

Mother nature decided to play a little joke on us this morning, dialing in some snow flurries for the first day of spring. I wasn’t fooled. I know winter is over. Bring on baseball!

Since it worked so well last time, I thought I’d try another open thread. So here it is.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with blogging terminology, an open thread is a post where the blog readers are encouraged to leave comments on any topic they like. Feel free to leave a comment and ask a question, make an observation, tell us what you’re up to or just introduce yourself and say hi.

I’m very interested in hearing fellow home shoppers, especially their impressions of any open houses that they’ve seen.

Debra is planning on doing some open house visits this weekend, so I should have some reportage for you on that front next week. As for me, I’ll be at the lab both Saturday and Sunday, giving up the first weekend of spring advancing the cause of science

I’m posting this “sticky”, which means that it will stay at the top of the page even if I post new stuff afterward. If you’re accustomed to stopping by and glancing at the top of the page to see if there’s new stuff, scroll on down a bit before you click away.

I have a few posts in the pipeline, but in the mean time I thought I might try an open thread.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with blogging terminology, an open thread is a post where the blog readers are encouraged to leave comments on any topic they like. Feel free to leave a comment and ask a question, make an observation, tell us what you’re up to or just introduce yourself and say hi.

Also, I’m interested in what people might like me to post about here. More local Babylon Village stuff? More housing news? More pictures of my baby?

I was also thinking of doing a post about the amount of website traffic I get on HIB, perhaps with some snapshots from Google Analytics. Any interest in that?

Anyway, have at it.
