Something similar happened to us when she worked for another realty. I wonder if that's why she's not working with them anymore?

Just to post on the Lowerre house - beware to new buyers. We were deep in talks on that house and had spent all kinds of money on inspections and appraisals - the day we signed contracts the owner took another offer. Her realtor over there at Prudential is a real number. I firmly believed she used us to get the info and then use it to get a better offer from another buyer. Karma friends, remember karma. I hope you all get what you deserve.

Blog, are you their Realtor or something? Is there a commission in it for you? ;)

Seriously, I can't see buying a place that needs major construction just to add the basic features we need to live. My brother added a bedroom and a bath to his home so my mother could come live with him. That adventure ran him over $100,000 and cost him a good bit of his sanity.

Gary,

Have you considered REOs? 325 Marcy St. (albeit WB)? Some of the pricing is still very much influenced by the inflated opinions of the Guild members that banks hire to sell their REOs for them, but there is very little ego involved on the seller side - i.e., no emotional attachment to the box and dirt; simply a question if the pile of money being offered is high enough.
